Dental Crowns & Bridges

Dental Crowns & Bridges in Solapur: Strong, Fixed Solutions
Do you have a tooth that is badly broken or decayed? Or perhaps a gap from a missing tooth that makes chewing difficult? Dental Crowns and Bridges are the time-tested solutions to restore the shape, strength, and function of your smile.
At Deshpande Dental Care & Implant Centre, we move beyond the old-fashioned "metal caps." We use modern, high-strength materials like Zirconia and E-max to create restorations that are virtually indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
What is the Difference?
While they are often mentioned together, they serve different purposes:
- Dental Crown (The "Cap"): This is a helmet that covers a damaged tooth. It restores the tooth to its original shape and size while protecting it from breaking further.
- Dental Bridge (The "Replacement"): This is used to replace missing teeth. It uses the healthy teeth on either side of a gap as anchors to hold a false tooth (pontic) in the middle.
Meet Your Specialist: Dr. Varun Deshpande
Fitting a crown isn't just about covering a tooth; it's about mechanics. If a crown is too high, it causes jaw pain. If the fit is loose, bacteria get inside and rot the tooth.
Dr. Varun Deshpande is an MDS Prosthodontist—a specialist in dental prosthetics.
- Precision Fit: He ensures the margin where the crown meets the gum is seamless, preventing future decay.
- Bite Balance: As a specialist, he carefully adjusts the crown so your bite feels completely comfortable and natural.
- Material Expert: He helps you choose the right material (Zirconia vs. Metal-Ceramic) based on which tooth needs the cap.
Types of Crowns We Offer
We offer a range of materials to suit your budget and aesthetic needs:
- Zirconia (Metal-Free): The gold standard. These are incredibly strong and tooth-colored. They are biocompatible and do not leave a black line near the gums.
- E-Max (All-Ceramic): Best for front teeth. They offer the highest aesthetics and translucency, looking exactly like real enamel.
- PFM (Porcelain Fused to Metal): A metal core covered with ceramic. Good for back teeth but may show a metal line over time.
When Do You Need a Crown?
- After a Root Canal Treatment (to protect the brittle tooth).
- To restore a fractured or cracked tooth.
- To cover a large filling that has weakened the tooth.
- To cover a dental implant.
The Process: Restoring Your Tooth
- Preparation: Dr. Varun shapes the tooth to make room for the crown.
- Digital Impression: We take a precise mold of your teeth to send to the lab.
- Temporary Cap: You will wear a temporary plastic cap for a few days so you can eat and smile normally while the permanent one is made.
- Fixation: The final Zirconia or Ceramic crown is bonded permanently to your tooth.
